I do think our cultures have suppressed, and continue to suppress the feminine. I don't know about Western Christianity, but certainly the teaching in Eastern Christianity is that men and women are equal but different. I would hardly think of Islam as a model of gender equality! Thank you for this Katrina. I love tantra because it transcends normative gender conditioning. If it has taught me anything valuable it is that I have to find and free the divine feminine within me. I am getting there but overcoming the obstacle of parental, especially maternal, programming is making that an uncomfortable journey...
